Help intersecting, cut and join

I want to punch two columns through this so that there is a circular cutout with a 2.25mm wall thickness, and then a countersunk hole at the bottom that is 3.671OD and the actual hole is 1.871. the two columns should intersect with the outer wall of the middle flat section so that that area is cut out and open. (essentially a "window" to the inside of the column)
I'm assuming I need a combination of cut and join but cannot think of proper workflow to accomplish this.

anyone have advice on how to do that?

I'm not entirely sure I understand what you are trying to accomplish.  But, you can do multiple Extrudes from the same sketch, if that helps.  For instance (again, not sure this is the result you are looking for, just a pointer in the right direction, maybe)

Thank you!

That put me on the right track, here is how I wound up doing it.

Thoughts?

Your solution looks good.  Like the use of Mirror, so as to not have to model the geometry twice.  Now I understand what you were trying to do!
