Having trouble with designing a mechanical keyboard case

Basic idea is, I'm lofting two profiles - rectangles with corner radii - and getting jagged edges on the created body. Lofting rectangles only then filleting afterwards yields undesirable corners.

Also, don't know how to align imported DXF profiles/sketches to bodies I've created in my model. Need to align a switchplate to a body I've created in my model, and have the alignment persist through parameter changes. I can't figure out how to accomplish this.

Thanks, let me know if anything needs clarification.

Couple of things come to mind,

the dxf will give trouble, when you get it into the file.

The insertion of the dxf, select the top of the plate, not the origin plane.

Then cut one hole, and use model patterns for the common ones.

Better to demonstrate with the file you are working in,

are the loft profiles made with lines and arcs, or spline?

Might help...

Keyboard case model: http://a360.co/2mRjqtm

Switchplate: http://a360.co/2DpyCrU

Let me know if those links don't work out.

The loft profiles are made with lines.

I haven't found any obvious problem with the case, (Loft questions earlier)

Copy the dxf sketch articles, with Control C, (slight delay here)

then go to edit the sketch you want to be destination, (I put it into Sketch 16 for the photo,)

and Control V (paste)  go put the kettle on, and when you get back,

rotate it - 90 degrees,

now make the coffee, and when done the dxf has arrived and

needs alignment on the sketch plane to your liking.

Fusion warns about performance problems, but we know that.

lol I'm familiar with Fusion360's mandatory "read a chapter in your favorite book" or "watch an episode of tv" operations.

I'll give it a try and get back to you. Thanks.

So your tips regarding importing the DXF file into a sketch worked great. Thanks.

I still don't know what to do about the loft tool problem though.

Have no idea why this works other than @TrippyLighting mentioned it recently,

Select the loft body in the browser, right click and go to Display Detail Control,

Just by changing the selection to fixed, did fix the problem, what ever the problem is.
