Grouping components together

Can any body please help. I have been pulling my hair out for day. I am trying to group this model together http://a360.co/1un46of

So I can import it into another drawing and move it about. When I fist tried to import it. it would eplode when I tried to move it. I may of not done the joints properly. If I try a rigid group, it still want to move each component seperatly. Could someone please take a look and see if they can give me any clues.

Thanks Matt

You may try making a component group that contains all the components. Next, activate the component group and add all the components to rigid group. The below video shows the workflow I'm talking about in detail.

For the link you shared, it will help to enable the "Allow viewers to download this item" option in the share window before copying the link.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Thanks Nathan. I have shared again http://a360.co/1zKrdID with download. I have re built it today as something was not right I couldn't drag any of the bodies into a component. I am still unable to move my Aluhotend component which is imported into this drawing. As soon as I move it none of the joints work. Can anyone possably have a look for me.

Thanks Matt

Make a new component by right clicking on the top of the design tree. Now drag all the other components on top of this new component. You may not even need the joints or groups, I usually delete joints after I use them to align 2 pieces if I don't need them for some sort of motion.

You can then export this whole new component as whatever file format you like and reimport into another drawing.

You can also just copy and paste the component from one design to the other, skipping the export/import step. Right click on the component and copy. In the new drawing right click on the design tree and paste new.

Not sure if this is the same problem, but I could not drag and drop components/bodies/sketches etc to create 'grouped' components or subcomponents within my browser tree.

It turns out that if you deactivate the timeline at the bottom of your screen, you are then allowed to rearrange your browser tree however youd like. beware becasue it resets your timeline history after that.
