Grid not displaying correctly

Hey,

My model is 19mm deep and is located just under the origin, but for some reason the grid is not displaying correctly. I measured my model to verify that the dimensions are corect. For some reason the grid seems to be at a different scale- each grid line should be 1 mm apart, but there are only 17.5 grid lines from the top of the model to the bottom. I've re-uploaded the model just to be sure that I did not change any of the grid settings.

Hi lawrence,

From the picture, the grid seems layout grid. Have you zoom in/zoom out the model?

@Anonymous, as Daniel mentioned, you might zoom in/out the view. Grid lines will be increased/decreased accoordingly when zoom in/out the view, so we couldn't use the number of grid lines to check the distance/length. But you might already noticed there are numbers on grid, which is the correct distance.

The grid in the picture is already the smallest grid size. When I zoom in more, the grid does not change. As I noted before, there seems to be 17.5 grid spaces that make up my model's z dimenion when there should be 19. This is not a matter of showing 1 grid line per 1 mm or 1 grid line per 10 mm.

Hi @Anonymous,

One thing you could try is to change your Grid Settings to be fixed instead of adaptive. This way it will always be the set increments and spacing that you desire. You can change these settings in your Navigation Toolbar by selecting the "Grid and Snaps" Menu and selecting Grid Settings. The picture below shows an example of what I think you want your grid to look like.

Let me know if this didn't work for you or if you have any other quetsions. Im more than happy to help!

Thanks,

Hey James,

Setting both major and minor to 10 seems to work, but that does not solve the problem. 1 and 1 does not work. 5 and 5 does not work. Only 10 and 10 works for some reason. This is a glitch that needs to be fixed.

That's very strange. I tried to replicate that issue on my computer, and the grid settings seem to work just fine. Do you mind making a screencast kind of detailing what you are talking about with the grid settings as well as when you change it to fixed? This way I can get a better understanding of what is going on. You can download screencast from the following website:

Hey @Anonymous,

I now see what you are talking about. Thanks for reporting that. I was able to reproduce the same grid errors when my major grid line spacings were either 2 or 1 mm.

I have submitted a report (FUS - 19526) to development. Development will be investigating this matter for cause and resolution. If I receive any updates I will post back here and let you know!

Thanks,
