fusion360 progress bar blocking fusion360 ???

Hi all,

in my current design I had an issue, I never observed before: some design changes result in heavier calculations and

fusion does not seem to response. seem busy. progress bar is indicating progress.notice: progres bar in the lower right cornernotice: progres bar in the lower right cornerthe additional 'process' item in the applicationthe additional 'process' item in the application

but actually it's not true. is seem more like the progress bar process is only freezing and since it is in the foreground in the windows system, fusion can not get the windows focus.

there is an additional item when clicking on the fusion360 application icon. it's called Fusion360. Closing it helps. It  closes the progress bar and Fusion is back alive. Calculations done.

It really feels like Fusion starts a new Thread for the progress bar and looses a handle on that.

Did someone observe a similar behaviour? And found a solution?

Thanks !

Stefan

Hi @designingberlin ,

2 questions:

1. How many components there are in this assembly?

2. How much RAM do you have in this computer?

Cheers / Ben

- 8GB ram

- round about 50 components (including sub components), some contain more than just one body.

Thanks,

Stefan

8GB is not enough!
You need at least 16GB, mostly because your OS (Operating System) which also takes some of it, especially if you are running windows 10. Upgrade to 16GB and you will see the difference.
