Fusion360 gear generator

I see countless threads created requesting and asking about a gear generator. It seems like a very important feature and something much needed. I don't understand why it still has not been done!

Currently I have been using a vector gear illustrator and then importing them into fustion360, but the program is so bad at handling the svg files (even after simplifiying and reducing the number of vector points below 500) that the program either crashes or takes an insanely long time to load. I have 16gb RAM on my computer and no other program on my computer runs at such a lagging speeds.

WHEN are you going to implement the gear generator??

Have you tried the spur gear add-in?

There are two other ways (besides import SVG files) to create a gear in Fusion:

1) To create a spurgear from Add-in dialog as following command: Menu > Scripts and Add-Ins > spurgear

2) The other way is to insert stardare parts from Macmaster: Toolbar > Insert McMaster-Carr Component

There will be some Design Accelerator toolsets as well been planned to be added in the near future, would it be possible for you to post this requirement to our IdeaStation? our PD and product management teams are frequently reviewing this to determine the priority of our planned features:)

Thank you I didn't know these other options existed. I cannot find a way to add a gear I found from McMASTER-CARR. When I find the product where is the CAD icon? Do all products have them?

The SpurGear add-in from Autodesk has the diametral pitch wrong, and it's very confusing to figure out how to compensate for that.

BetterSpurGear fixes that problem.

But of course we users reallllllllly want much more capable gear generation tools, like what it would take to generate gears for an automotive differential.

At least, helical and herringbone gears. And bevels at various angles. We can build these with thin spurs connected by lofting, but it's very tedious and error prone.
