When attempting to open Fusion, the download icon goes around several seconds then stops. I've looked in this forum and it seems I should uninstall and reinstall. Can't even do that. Get a "Fusion 360 has stopped working" popup. When "Check online for a solution and close the program" I get a popup that says " cx_freeze fatal error ; cannot get zipimporter instance" . Where do I go from here.     Thanks,    Pico

Hi Pico!

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Fusion 360 community!

I am sorry that you are experiencing this issue 😞

I see that you said you have tried to uninstall and reinstall Fusion 360 as a way to try to rectify the issue. I am just curious, when performing the uninstallation of Fusion 360, did you perform a clean uninstall as detailed in the article we have created, linked here? If not, could you proceed with the instructions found in the article then attempt to reinstall Fusion 360 from our website, linked here? I would just like to note that when performing the clean uninstall, you may come across steps where you are asked to delete folders that may not exist in the given location. Should you come across a situation like that, just proceed through the instructions as if you have already deleted the folder.

Please let me know if you have any questions or if this resolves the issue! I look forward to hearing back from you!

Cheers,

I did use the article that you have a link to. But when I attempt to uninstall, a popup Windows Script Host says: Could not find uninstaller to launch. Not certain what to do now. What do you suggest? Thanks,    Pico

Hi Pico,

Thanks for the update!

When you receive that error message, are you attempting to uninstall from the Control Panel? If so, you can skip that step. When that step does work, it misses a lot of folders and files that need to be deleted for Fusion 360 to re-install properly.

Could you proceed with the instructions, deleting the folders from the necessary locations, and attempt to re-install Fusion 360? I would also like to note that to access the locations given in the article, you will need to have hidden files and folders turned on.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions!

Cheers,

I attempted to remove the folders as specified in the article, but found an installer and tried that and successfully installed, or reinstalled, the program. Don't know why, but it works now! Thanks,    Pico
