Fusion refuses to let me break link

I'd like to combine the linked components ( in red ) with the green body within my design file.  In order to do so, I understand I would need to break the link on the imported, red components.  However, I get the following error:

Error: The selected referenced component or one of its children has dependent features like Pattern associated with it. Please remove the dependent features and try again.

Unfortunately, even when I run the timeline all the way back to right after I insert the component it still gives me the same error.  While I am sure I am missing something, I fail to understand how there could be a reference error when it was the last action done.  Can somebody please point out the error of my ways?

Thank you for the help!

Found a temporary solution.  I had patterned the linked red parts and even when I pulled my design history back BEFORE the pattern it was still somehow stopping the break link.  I deleted the pattern, broke the link and added the pattern again.

Unfortunately this solution broke a lot of my design history but the end file is in tact.  If anybody could help me understand the issue here, that would be greatly appreciated!

Your problem pattern is marked in the screen capture below.  It is easy to take care of and break the link as desired but it brings up a lot of color in the timeline because you have used the linked files in other features.  I do not know your design intent so it is hard to fix them.  For what it is worth, the assembly with the links removed, and all its errors, is attached.

Thanks for the assist John!

For future reference, can you help me understand why fusion stops me from breaking the link with the pattern?  More importantly, why it would still stop me if I have the design history scrolled back to just after I imported the component? At that stage, no pattern had been "done" yet so I'm confused as to why there would be issues.

I cannot tell you why this is happening.  I hope some else will be able to answer your question.
