Fusion modeling threads the wrong direction

I am modeling a part with internal threading and when I select "right hand thread" it models a left hand thread. If I switch it to left hand it models a right hand thread. What am I doing wrong?

Is the component or body by chance one that has been mirrored?  Attach your model for the Forum users to take a look at.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

I used the revolve tool from a 2D sketch.

Your model calls for a Right Hand thread for the inside thread and I placed an 11/16-20 RH tap inside you piece and it looks correct to me.

Here a picture with the tap in place and a picture confirming the tap size.

Does the cross section I attached to my first post not show a left hand thread direction?

Nope, that's a right-hand thread alright 😉

If this answers your question please mark the thread as solved as it can help others find solutions in the future.

I've created a Windows application for creating custom thread files for Fusion. You can find out about it here. Hope you find it useful.

You are looking at an internal thread which seems opposite to you.  In the video I created a positive of your thread and compare it to a picture of a right hand thread.
