Fusion doesn't response

If my computer goes to "sleep" mode (hibernate?), I have found difficulties to get Fusion to respons after restart. At least it takes quite long time (more than 10 min.) or sometimes I have to use stop process method from Windows resource management.

Is this my hardware/operating system (win7) problem or is it more Fusion related? Or is it recommended not to use "sleep mode" in your computer?

Hi Enthusiast,

I hope there might some problem with your system because normally Fusion360 doesnot responds in that way as you described. If you have a high quality graphics card in your PC i would suggest you to apply "high performance mode" to Fusion360 so that it performes better.

I hope it solves your problem. "Fingers Crossed"

Thank's for your comment. Yes, probably the problem is my Quadro series graphics card; I know that it is not recommened as best solution for Fusion use.

Could someone Autodesk people comment to this matter? I should then change to use some "gaming" series craphics card...

It might be your graphics card. I have the same problem and sometimes this is quite annoying for your workflow. I have just bought an Asus Rog laptop (NVidia gtx 960m graphics card). In 2-3 days I will have it working and I will let you know if card is the problem.

All the best!

I've already had my new laptop working and it seems the problem disappeared. So far so good. This makes me think the graphics card is the real problem.

Hope this helped!

Thank's for information! Still hope, that also some Autodesk people could confirm, that the craphics card could cause such a problem.

Hi,

While the graphics card could be part of the problem there's also the network "re-connect" speed and when you are re-engaging with Fusion. I have found in my testing that Fusion is responsive after waking if you wait until network connections are re-established. We aren't aware of this specific behavior being associated with the video card.

However in theory the video card could be contributing in the sense that it could take a while to reinitialize or could also be looking for it's own updates while it's initializing. Have you checked the manufacturer's website for newer drivers? I specify the manufacturer's website because Microsoft Update does not necessarily have the most current drivers.

Also, does changing (lowering or increasing) the resolution/color depth make any difference?

Finally, in general if Fusion is continuing to be non-responsive after waking then we'd be interested in getting your log files to see if there's anything causing a conflict. Can you post the log.zip here? To generate them launch Fusion, clikc the Help menu (?) and select Diagnostic Log Files.

If I understand right, the network "re-connection" speed is caused of the whole network system; hardware+software+internet connection? My internet connection (cable modem) is 50 Mb and it's been very stable and my computer is connected via RJ-45 cable to my own 1GB network.

I have used only Nvidias own drivers, I have quite new driver ver.341.92; I just checked, that there is a version 341.95 available. I will install it, but I suppose, that it isn't the main problem.

"Also, does changing (lowering or increasing) the resolution/color depth make any difference?" Haven't done, I could try it (never changed color depth?). And as I told, I have Quadro series graphic card due to certain software.

Ok, I will send you a log file after the problem occurs next time. Is it ok to send it to you directly via e-mail?
