Fusion crashes when trying to explode text

Hello Folks

An odd for the F360 team

I am trying to setup some text for a router job. A present for my wife who is called Linda

I can not explode her name, F360 crashes. I have narrowed it down to the 'a'. But it only seems to occur when I use the Andy font. Unfortunately this is the font that looks most like hand writing and the one I want to use

I've tried Arial and Verdana and I can explode the 'a' ok.

I'll do i again right now and send the report when it crashes

Is this s bug or am I doing something dumb

Thanks

Andy

I don't have that font so it's a bit hard to help but have you tried to extrude without exploding to curves first, if that works and you need the curves you might be able to extract them with project to sketch. Can you attach a screen shot of the letters.

HI Mark

Thanks for reply. I can extrude it, but then I have problems later on with some of the other letters and the CAM routine.

I've attached the font. I don think its anything special. I assume it came with W7 or W10, VS, Office or Fusion. Certainly not downloaded my me

Any solution would be appreciated. Or even a 'sorry its busted and you need to use another font' would do. At least that will stop me banging my head against the proverbial wall

Many thanks

Andy

There's definitely a problem with that font but why can't you use the projected curves from an extrusion.

Projected curves.

Select sketch curves in the engrave op.

Simulation looks OK or are you tryimg to do something else where the sketch doesn't work.

Hi Mark

My first thought to your 'why cant you project curves from an extrusion' is because I'm an idiot 🙂

But then I saw your end CAM

I'm trying to do the this

2016-02-27 16_18_00-Greenshot.png

But with different letters and a heart in the middle, AndrewHeartLinda. So I need to move each letter so everything just overlaps. Then extrude them.

I have tried extruding them first and then moving them, but the capital 'A' (for Andrew) fails in the CAM process. It does not detect the 'n' and therefore cuts into it.

Its driving my potty !!

Thanks for the help

Great program. To quote a well known burger brand 'I'm loving it'

My apologies if you are already doing this, I'm away from the network to check on crash reports, but please send in the CER reports and include your email and a description when you do. That will help us solve this crash.

Thanks,

It might be worth starting a thread in the CAM forum and attach your file, may be someone can help. To export click the top node in the browser in the model workspace and export as an f3d file.
