Hi !

I facing problem with cylinders nad cutting shapes.

As text, and simple object can be cutted from cylinder, more complicated shapes not.

I`m not native english so its hard to subscribe.

My plan is to get cylinder (with some thickness),

sketch shape (for example some flames or flowers) to be around 360degrees of this cylinder.

Then cut/extrude selected shapes around all cylinder.

Pipe feature its not i`m looking for, because i got complicated shapes to cut (like flames).

Any tip or advice will be apprieciated.

Maciej

This thread started it all and is 2.5 years old. By now there are a ton of Fusion 360 tutorials on Youtube, which describe that. There are also a good number of threads on this forum hat describe his.

There is a screencast in tis thread the describes the workflow as well.

Autodesk Inventor Professional is the Autodesk equivalent product to Dassault SolidWorks.

Emboss-Wrap and other techniques in Inventor.

Students can download Inventor Professional for free from http://www.autodesk.com/Edcommunity

The free student download link didn't work. Page 404 error, page not found.  I've been looking for workarounds and I haven't found any yet.  I'm trying to use a canvas of a tribal dragon and wrap it around a cylinder so I can print it on my 3D printer.  I will try looking for other software that can maybe do this.  I'm married with kids so no way I have thousands of dollars for a professional package.

Or

File>Export and Attach your *.f3d file here if you can't figure out how to do it in Fusion 360.

Incorrect information.

Inventor has been able to wrap a cylinder for at least a decade.
