Fusion 360 Wont Start, even after reinstall (which fails)

So, there was an Office update earlier this week, Fusion was open, I had some files open.

PC completes the office upgrade but 'hangs'. I reboot. Since then, Fusion 360 wont start at all. It crashes on start up. Reboot, same. Reinstall, same.

Ive got stuff to do on Fusion but stuck 😞

Logs here:-

http://pastebin.com/yt1NchXu

Any ideas please? Not sure why it saying '(filename not available)' extensively in the logs ...

Thanks

Welcome to the community! I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble starting Fusion 360. Thanks for submitting the error reports. I note that your graphics drivers are up to date and ready to go, so we can rule out graphics right out of the gate!

I note that everything seems to go haywire in the log files after loading the below file.

%appdata%/Autodesk/Neutron Platform/Options/<ID>/NGlobalOptions.xml

Can you try the following suggestions to see if they help? I'm including Mac instructions for other's benefits.

Mac OS
1. (Close Fusion 360) In Terminal, type the below command and press enter

open ~/library/

2. In the Subsequent Finder window (Macintosh HD > Users > %Profile% > Library), browse to

~/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Web Services

3. In the Web Services Directory, locate the file LoginState.xml
4. Right click on LoginState.xml and select Move to Trash

5. Restart Fusion 360

Windows OS

1. (Close Fusion 360) In windows explorer browse to  %localappdata%\autodesk\web services

2. In the Web Services directory, right lick on the Login State.xml file and select delete

3. Restart Fusion 360

One more thing to try ....

Mac OS

1. (Close Fusion 360) In Terminal, type the below command and press enter

open ~/library/

2. In the Subsequent Finder window (Macintosh HD > Users > %Profile% > Library), browse to

~/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Neutron Platform/Options

3. In the Web Services Directory, right click on the file NMachineOptions.xml and select Move to Trash

4. In the Web Services Directory, right click on the file NGlobalOptions.xml and select Move to Trash
5. Restart Fusion 360

Windows OS:

1. (Close Fusion 360) In windows explorer browse to  %appdata%\autodesk\nuetron platform\options

2. In the Options directory, right click on the NMachineOptions.xml and select delete

3. In the Options directory, right click on the NGlobalOptions.xml and select delete

4. Restart Fusion 360

If the above suggestions do not help , can you try performing a clean unisntall using the below link?

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How...

This will make sure that all of the previous files have been removed. After this, perform a fresh install by selecting Download Free Trial from the below website.

I hope this helps! Please keep us updated on your progress!

Thanks,

Hi Ctintinger,

I think I see the issue from the log file you posted, it appears that when you rebooted, a file was partway through being written by Fusion 360 and is now in a bad state, causing a crash on launch when Fusion tries to load from it.

The solution to this should be to delete the following files while Fusion is closed :

 - C:\Users\Chaz\AppData\Local\Autodesk\production\JobManager360\RWBLJNRFQUD6\jobs.json

 - C:\Users\Chaz\AppData\Local\Autodesk\production\JobManager360\RWBLJNRFQUD6\jobs.json.lck (if present)

hey gang- thanks for this thread! This worked for me too. I have problems often where fusion just won't open. Tried this today after trying rebooting a few times and finally fusion opened right up. thanks.
