Fusion 360 crashes on startup

Hello,

I Need help,

I love Autodesk 360 fusion but recently stopped working.

After using A360 with awesome results to model parts and produce cam files for my DIY CNC.

I found this Software to be the best thing I have ever used.

When I clicked on the start icon I got noting, and tried several times and ways to start the app.

I then tried to uninstall and reinstall the program, and got an unexpected Error!

[WinError 2] the system cannot find the file specified. Please attach the file

"C:\Users\armando\AppData\Local\Autodesk \autodesk.webdeploy.streamer.log"

to any problem reports before closing this dialog.

I have attached the said file .log

the specified file the system cannot find is "QtGui_Ad_4.dll"

or on previous attempts it was this missing file  "QtCore_Ad_4.dll"

I searched for theses files and I did find them under

C:\Users\armando\AppData\Local\Autodesk \webdeploy\production\e6bf3531fe9734dab4c4530aa6a4abd5cde03e6e

I don't understand why I can find them but the system cannot.

please help me resolve this issue and get back to making stuff.

thank you,

Armando

Hi @mando1373,

Can you provide more details on the uninstall failure?  After trying to uninstall does Fusion 360 still show up in "Add/Remove programs" ?

Thank you,

Hello mando,

We install new versions of the software while old versions exist.  Old versions are not removed until the new version install completes successfully.

You can likely find the files because you are finding old versions of the files while the new versions are still missing.  That said, the new versions seem to be missing and I can't tell from the logs why.  Further, files for interacting with uninstall functionality are alos missing which are causing some of the other problems you are seeing.

At this point, it would probably be best to do a manual delete of the folder "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Autodesk\webdeploy"  before performing a re-install from the web link.

If there is any error reported during the delete (and before running the install), please reboot your machine and retry the delete operation.

Thanks,

Steven
