Can't add dimension to sketch

I can't add a dimension to my sketch.  Here's my model: http://a360.co/1BRqyTv

In the sketch named Top Bars there are just two lines.  I want to add a dimension to them so I can change the length.  I'm assuming that it I'm having trouble because the sketch has 3D sketch geometry.

Hello,

I would suggest a workaround, add parallel plane at distance and create new sketch on it. It allows you to place dimensions.

Does it mean that you cannot add dimension to 3d sketches??

Hello,

you can use dimension in 3D sketches, but it is limited. Dimensions are OK when they are used in sketch plane (part of the 3D sketch). The lines between sketch planes (another part of 3D sketch) only snaps to geometry of sketch planes. Of course you can drive the 3D geometry, but it is controlled of how do you define sketch plane against other sketch planes (angle, distance,... ).

regards

Martin
