Fusion 360 browser

It is great that my students might be able to access their work on machines that don't have Fusion 360 installed and be able to access their work at home when parents don't want or are unable to install the app.  It seems much more basic than the desktop version but that is only to be expected and I wouldn't expect the same performance when using older machines that can't run the app.

Hi

Thanks for the feedback.  It is still early days for the the browser client, but we hope to make steady improvements based on customer requirements.

So feel free to continue to let us know what you think.

Many thanks

Following Brian's instructions at https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-preview-functionality/browser-f360-getting-started/td-p/69...

There is apparently no 'Fusion Team' area, but when I was FINALLY able to navigate to where he seemed to indicate, ( https://myhub.autodesk360.com/g/all_projects/active )

my browser address was 'My Hub'.

You might want to update the instructions. It took me over an hour of searching to be able to run on my Chromebook,

which it amazingly does fairly well, minus some features, of course.

FYI,

-Christian

Hi Christian

Thanks for letting us know.

Because of the way different hubs can be setup, we wanted instructions which would work in all cases.  However I will still pass on this feedback.

Thanks again

I too (eventually) found https://myhub.autodesk360.com/ and managed to log in, despite the incorrect information here about how to access Browser F360 (which in turn is linked to in the official knowledgebase article on running F360 on a Chromebook).

However, when you click on "New -> Fusion Design" it comes up with the following message:

  • You do not have the correct entitlements to try the preview of Fusion 360 in the browser. Please create a Fusion 360 account to continue.

Following the button to "Create a Fusion 360 account to continue" it takes you the Free Trial download page, which when you fill in the form it then spits back the following error:

  • Your operating system is not supported. Fusion 360 is supported on 64-bit Windows 7 or newer and 64-bit Mac OS X 10.11 or newer.

Can it be right that you have to actually download the software for Windoze or Mac just to create a Fusion 360 account?!

It seems that my Chromebook can run the browser-based webapp, but I can't create an account without downloading the non-browser-based version!?!

Hi Chris

Thanks for taking the time to send us your feedback.

The installation of Fusion 360 desktop version ensures the correct entitlements are registered. One of which, is access to Fusion data via a web browser. While we believe the browser version will one day be ready to stand alone, it is a currently only available for existing Fusion desktop users.

All the best

I also get the error

"You do not have the correct entitlements to try the preview of Fusion 360 in the browser. Please create a Fusion 360 account to continue."

when I try to create a Fusion design in the browser.

This is on the same machine where I am running the desktop version of Fusion 360 under "Startup" license without problems. The machine is a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)  running Mac OS 10.13.6.

I can use other A360 in-browser features such as project sharing.

Is this due to my license or should I be able to get this work?

Hi

Sorry to hear you are encountering this issue.

The entitlement is set on your account when you install Fusion 360 Desktop.  So, is it possible that you are logging into Fusion Team using a different email address? https://myhub.autodesk360.com

Failing that, I can only think that re-installing Fusion Desktop might solve the issue.

If you do not manage to fix it, then please let us know and we can do some further investigations

Thanks

There is now official support for Fusion 360 running in the browser on Chromebooks. Check out this link for more information.
