Fusion 360 - A better way to save multiple designs

Hello Forum,

I have been using Fusion for some time and I've been meaning to ask this for a while.  I don't know when Fusion is completed with saving.  There are many indications that something is happening but not when it is over.  The design file in the demo video is for a lightweight test I was working on.  It was Ok that is took a little over a minute to save but UX is very chaotic and I don't know when the save is complete.

Is this normal?

See attached f3d file and demo video.

I tested the same design in offline mode. And wow fusion is fast. And when I go back online, I get this great upload progress bar.

(FYI the test is a simplified proxy for much more feature rich design. So hopefully this work flow is still viable once the design is 100% complete)

See before an after demo video.

Understood the experience for saving multiple designs is not great, I agree, and I'm hoping to improve that in the future.  For now, there are a couple of other indicators you can use:

  • You can see in the Data Panel on the left, the designs you are saving have blue spinning circles that indicate they are being uploaded to the cloud.  Those spinning circles will go away when each design is finished.  Of course, there may be some designs that are not visible in the Data Panel at the time if they are being saved to a different folder or project.
  • Another indicator is your avatar on the components in the browser.  Any time you make a savable change to a component, your avatar gets added to the browser node of that component indicating you have reserved that design and it is waiting for your changes to be saved.  When you save, you avatar dims, indicating that the save/upload is in progress and your reservation is being removed.  Once the save is complete and the reservation is completely removed, then the avatar will disappear.

I hope these help for now until we can improve this in the future.
