Fully Constraints Sketch is not showing the red padlock in timeline

I created a circle at the origin and gave it a dimension. The circle is black as though it is fully constrained. Isn't that enough? I finished the sketch and moved on to other work and in the timeline the icon for that sketch is still showing the pencil, rather than the red padlock. What indicator(s) may I rely on that will tell me that the sketch is fully constrained?

does your sketch look like this?  If so, and it is still not showing fully constrained, please share the design here

@jeff_straterYes, just like yours, but the question is about the time line icon. The sketch icon in the browser on the left is ok just like yours. Timeline Icon.png

@jeff_strater  While we are on the topic of the time line, I cannot find much documentation on the time line which is where I started looking for this answer.

Go to the question mark icon in the upper right corner of the Fusion 360 desktop (Help) and type in Timeline and hit Enter, you will find information on the time.ine.  Here is a Exercise Video for new Users on the timeline.

the timeline icon does not change when the sketch is fully constrained.  Only the browser icon changes to show the lock icon

Hi,
First thing, please share your sketch if it is black, don't worry you are all set. Your sketch is now fully contraints.
Thank you.

After finishing your sketch and doing some extrude or revolve, if you want to see your sketch further it was constraints or not go to your Browser ( NOT   Timeline )  >> Sketch >> Checkmark the eye button and look out your sketch.

Thank you.

Jeff, my problem is similar but different. My sketch 'side panels' lines are black however I do not get the red lock in the browser. Any ideas why? File is attached.

Excellent Guenther, that worked! How did you find that?

Hi,

There's a little bit of luck involved, because I try to keep my eye on vagabond elements in these situations.

Thanks for getting back to me Guenther. I thought there was a bit of art to
it and you confirmed that.

It's more understanding where the issue may be.  White points are easy unless they are coincident with a fully constrained point.  Overlapping geometry is another which is hard to find.

Two techniques which, while tedious, usually work are to Fix/Unfix each entity until the sketch lock icon shows.  The other method is to delete entities until the problem one is found (Delete and Undo).
