Fixed angle renders

I have roughly 70 products that I need to render, but unlike Solidworks Fusion 360 doesn't allow me to set an angle for the render other than the standard. I would like to set a fixed angle for all the products so that when they are lined up on a page their appearance is consistent.

Is there a workaround? Just toggling the view cube by eye is not precise enough for an engineering program.

 Hi electicartist,

The closest thing I can think of is to set a named view and keep using that camera to render.

You would have to set up a new design for the purposes of rendering and insert your models in to the workspace.

Here is the workflow I had in mind:

  • Create a new design and save it as "Rendering"

  • Insert your models in to this design and orient them in the workspace.  You will want to make sure they are all at the origin (no, we don't have a good way to doing this today)
  • For this example I only did two

  • Once they are in the workspace and oriented the way you want.
  • Go in to the Render workspace set up one of the models at the angle you want the shot to look
  • Browser, click the arrow to open the named views (Top, Front, Right, Bottom) - These are basically cameras.
  • Right click on the Named Views label in the browser and select New Named View to add a new Named View
  • Right Click on the new named view and rename it Render

  • Now that named view is locked.  If you tumble the model and then click on the Render named view it will go back to the original setting.
  • Now you can toggle the visibility of the various models and push a render for each one.

Hope that helps.

I have captured your request to have a way to dial in the exact angle of the camera.

Cheers,

Colin

Is this still the only way to generate renders of multiple models with the same orientation?
