Files not uploading

Seems like this is a common issue with F360, but I have a handful of models I've created that aren't being uploaded and synced. They are hung and stuck. I've gone into offline mode, resaved them, etc., but no luck.

I was able to export, and then import some of the models. But one model includes a bunch of linked files and cannot be exported in the fusion format.

I'm coming back to F360 after several months away (waiting for it to mature and be less buggy - obviously that hasn't happend yet).

I've searched the forums and havn't been able to figure out a solution. Anyone know how to help?

Hi @kinsleymark,

I also noticed that you had created a webcase about this issue as well. I sent you an email regarding this information and for everyone's sake that may be experiencing the same issue I will periodically post updates here addressing the issue and how we went about solving this. Just wanted to give you a heads up that the email is on its way.

Thanks,

Thanks James!

In addition to posting in the forums, I also contacted Autodesk via Twitter and via the “Feedback” link inside F360. It’s not very clear which way works best or quickest so I decided to try them all

Email is best, and I replied to your email. However, I received an email back stating "Oops — we didn’t receive your message". I replied directly to your email and didn't change the subject line.

Anyway, here was my email response:

Yesterday evening I created a handful of separate model files from within F360. I also created a much larger assembly model that included all those models (via linking).

I spent about 4 hours last night working on these models. Out of about 7 files I created, 3 of them are stuck uploading and syncing to the F360 servers. The ones that aren’t syncing just show a spinning wheel. (screenshot attached).

Because I didn’t want to lose any work, I exported the model files into the fusion format and then re-uploaded them to a new folder. Those uploaded fine (the originals are still not able to sync). However, the large assembly file can’t be exported - “...exported files with references is not yet supported…”.
This is the main file I’m worried about because I spent a lot of time building it. I tried saving it to new file names (both in online and offline mode), but those new files are hung as well.

Hi @kinsleymark,

I asked around and it seems as if this issue is due to complex cross-file references created in Offline Mode. In order to diagnose this I will need your log files. You can find these by clicking the Help Menu in  Fusion 360 (looks like a ?) and selecting Diagnostic Log files. Once you send those to me, I can try to get a better understanding of what is going on and hopefully be able to find a workaround.

Also, to address the export issue you were having. In Fusion you cannot export referenced files like that yet. You will have to break the links to the referenced files in order to obtain the .f3d, but in doing so you will not have referenced files anymore.

Thank you and I apologize for the inconvience,

James

Great. Do you have a direct email address I can send this to?

Like I mentioned above, I tried to respond to your email, but I got an error: "Oops — we didn’t receive your message".

I responded directly to your email w/out changing the subject line.

I spent around 4-6 hours creating a handfull of parts and a large assembly. However, I am still unable to upload and sync these models to F360. It's now been almost two days since I started modeling, and this has not been resolved.

Fortunately, this is just for a personal side project. No clients are waiting for me. No deadlines are approaching. No timesheets are being filled with time wasted going back and forth with support.

However, I am unable to do the next step of my project (rendering / cloud rendering / sharing) because the files are not synced. This project is essentially stalled until this is resolved.

As a cloud-focused CAD system, It's ironic that F360 is failing in what should be one of it's core functionalities - cloud sync.

F360 is doing a lot of things right. But I sure as hell won't use it for any actual client work -- at least until they get their core functionalities perfected.
