FEM simulations not getting processed

Hi all,

I have a very simple static load simulation that hangs at 5% since yesterday. A similar run took under 30 min previously. I tried cancelling and restarting, but to no avail.

Anyone else having the same issue?

Do the cloud servers have gremlins?

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

sure, here it is, but it's not the model imho.

Aren't you getting errors?

Exactly what do you want to know from this design (I would set it up very differently)?

Pressure1 was not part of the simulation.

What I mean is, that the cloud server job is stuck at 5% since yesterday.

It is not a dimensional design issue, but apparently a server-side issue.

I am wondering if anyone else has this (apparently) server-side issue.

Are you willing to start over from scratch?

I already restarted it 2 times, and I am on the 3. running attempt atm.

Can can you do me a favour and start the simulation on your end and see if it finishes?

I should have said, "Are you willing to do it my way?"

Sure. I'll redo from scratch. Consider it solved for now, I'll crate a new post if it pops up again.

Post solve edit: as far as I can see from my end, it appeared to be a temporary server-side issue. It "felt" like the servers were busy.

Step 1.

Sketch a Center Point Slot anchored to the Origin as shown below.

TheCADWhisperer_0-1684329678553.png

Step 2.

Sketch a horizontal line from MidPoint to MidPoint of the arcs.

Note the color of the sketch elements. (Fully defined.)

Step 3.

Revolve one side about the Horizontal line as Axis.

Step 4.

Shell selecting the Body from the browser and enter 1mm.

TheCADWhisperer_0-1684329982689.png

Go to Static Analysis

Clone Study if needed to get Study 1 and Study 2.

Make sure Study 1 is active study and go to SIMPLIFY

...additional info added to Message 10.

Continuation...

Step 5

...after entering SIMPLIFY

sketch a rectangle on the YZ plane as shown.

Be sure one corner is anchored to the Origin.  The size of the rectangle does not matter as long as it is larger than the tank.

TheCADWhisperer_0-1684330646655.png

Extrude - Intersect the rectangle by a convenient distance.

TheCADWhisperer_0-1684330764496.png

Finish SIMPLIFY.

Step 6.

Place the Load on the inside face.

TheCADWhisperer_1-1684330892328.png

Step 7

Place a Frictionless constraint on one of the cut faces.

(Repeat this for 4 separate Frictionless constraints.)

Oops, I made 2 mistakes - this is the first mistake.  The geometry needs to be free to deform in one direction along (x axis in this case). So should be 3 Frictionless constraints.

Step 8.

From the Manage tab go to Settings

and checkmark Remove Rigid Body Modes.

Oops, I made two mistakes - this is second mistake.  Leave this unchecked.

Step 9.

Mesh the geometry.  Observe the mesh.

From the Mesh Control adjust such that there are at least two elements (some recommend 3) across the thinnest section of material.

I made two mistakes in Steps 7 and 8 - be sure to see the corrections.

Repeat analysis on quadrant of a hemispherical end of the tank.

As of today, 17. May at 10:30 CET your suggested simulation completed successfully. But..., so did the previously stuck one. I also did a second run of both with different loads to see if the previous problem block occurs again. It did not. The runtime for all 4 was about equal.

The issue seems gone.
