F360 Doesn't Launch After Closing In Second Monitor

On opening F360, after the Splash screen the main MDI window opened, but showed on the Title Bar that it was not responding.

I found the post Fusion 360 does not launch, and followed the Troubleshooting Fusion 360 Launching Issues suggestions. Nothing helped so I ended up doing a "clean" uninstall, and reinstall.

F360 launched OK, and I moved the window to my 2nd monitor, and set it to full screen. No problem so far.

Following a minor issue with the Browser bar (after a Collapse/Expand, the bar was half way down the window), I closed and tried to restart F360. However, it would not launch again.

Investigating the displays of Screen1 and Screen2 I found:

  • Screen 1 Only - Launches
  • Screen 2 only - Launches
  • Screen 1 & 2, Duplicate - Launches
  • Screen 1 & 2, Extend - Launches if last Closed in Screen 1
  • Screen 1 & 2, Extend - Fails to Launch if last Closed when more than 50% of F360 window is in Screen 2

Not a major problem, if I forget and close F360 when in Screen 2, I just have to set the display to Screen 1 only, then it launches OK.

Thought this might save someone some time, and trying an unnecessary Re-Install, if they strike this issue.  🙂

Hello @MaxHugen ,

Thanks for pointing out the issues with the dual screen. 🙂

If we just off the second screen with Fusion launched with second screen we get this issue.

As you mentioned we need to make sure we have to set the display to screen 1 only.

This is the only workaround I guess for now.

Have come accross same issue using Dell Alienware laptop with second screen. Just hangs when opening on the second screen. Discovered this post after working it out.
If I drag it to the laptop screen as it open but before the first Fusion splash it will open ok.

My laptop is a Dell G7, also with Alienware. Are you dragging the initial F360 splash window to the laptop screen? Haven't tried that...

Yes, try to drag before the first splash window.

My second monitor is set above the laptop screen.

I drag Fusion to the laptop screen before closing.  It will re-open ok on the laptop screen

If It opens on the top monitor I keep dragging until it is on the laptop screen and it will continue open ok.

If it opens on the top monitor past the  first splash  before it is moved **** still hangs.
