Extrude to surface question

Hi,

I'm looking for some help with extruding up to a surface. I've attached pictures for clarity. I extruded a curved surface as the reference, and am trying to extrude up to this surface. When I extrude up to the surface, I can only extrude up to one surface and the curved corners are left out of the profile. Resulting in the extrusion having square edges. I guess my question is, is there a way to "extrude to surface" like there is in SolidWorks? Sorry for the silly question, I hope you can understand what I'm asking.

@cjkinsman setting the Extend option to To Adjacent Faces should do the trick.

Hi Rushikesh,

Thank you for your help. I expected this to work, but I get a "cannot complete extrusion" error when I try to do it this way. I've attached the fusion file for reference.

You also could extrude through the surface and use the surface to cut off the the body.

Your extrusion profile falls outside of the "to object" boundary:

your surface is too small.  You can tell this if you make both the solid and surface visible - you can see a line where the solid body (and therefore the profile) sticks outside of the surface.  That is what is causing your termination to fail.

You could re-design this surface to be a bit bigger.  I got lazy and just offset another surface by 0.05, and that did the trick.
