Exporting Text to DXF file

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have an electrical panel that I have created in A360.  I am adding text to the face for labeling of controls.  I plan on having the text Laser Engraved.  The Laser shop I use needs the files in DXF format.  When I export a .DXF from my sketch layer the text on my drawing goes away and I simply get rectangles where the text is supposed to be.

How do I get text to show up on the .DXF file?  Any other suggestions on how to handle exporting laser engraving details?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Thanks for posting your question to the forum. A360 does not create files, are you maybe using AutoCAD 360?

Let us know more details and we can try and get you pointed in the right direction for help.

Looks like I posted to the wrong Forum.  I'm working in Fusion360.

Hey @Anonymous

Right click the text, choose "Explode Text" then export as DXF, that sould work!

Exploding the text basically turns the letters into lines and curves so they can be adjusted/exported.

Good luck! Smiley Very Happy

That works...After half a day of struggleing I finaly have text on my DXF.  Now I wish I had caught my typo prior to exploding all 47 text boxes on my drawing.

Thanks.
