Export intermediate displacement and stress results in static stress simulation

Hello,

I am running a very simple linear static stress model with a normal load condition. I want to create an incremental force vs displacement type of graph. Is there a way to export the intermediate values of displacement or stress in this simulation as the force is applied? The ideal solution would be to somehow be able to export these values from steps as shown in the animation result. Has anyone tried it before and can walk me through the process? Really appreciate your help.

Thanks,

Ankita

Hi Ankita,

There is only one load, only one result in a linear static analysis. Because the analysis is linear, the force versus displacement plot would be a straight line. You can make your own plot from (0,0) to (force, displacement). 😀 (This assumes that you only have one part, or that all of the parts are bonded together. If you have an assembly of components/bodies and use some type of separation contact, then the displacement versus force plot may not be perfectly linear.)

The animation assumes that the results are linear, so it simply scales the results uniformly to make the animation.

If the real situation is not linear, then you should not be using a linear analysis. You would use a nonlinear analysis in this case which will give multiple results to be able to plot the displacement versus the load increment.
