Export files from Fusion 360 and convert to IFC

Hello,

I am making drawings and models in Fusion 360 of products that I export into DWG. Architects can later import these into their drawings. Now, I am getting requests that the files should be compatible with BIM, and I am looking for a solution. I don't need to use a full-scale BIM software since I am only doing a small product and not a full building assembly.

I don't see any way to export directly to IFC format from Fusion 360. Has someone had similar struggles and have some solutions?

Any ideas are helpful 🤗

I think you can do this with Autodesk Inventor Professional...

Hi! You may also want to look into 3rd-party application, like CAD Exchanger at the moment.

Many thanks!

Thanks but it will be too advanced and expensive solution for my needs 😞

That's a great idea!

I have tried CAD exchanger but couldn't download and install it 🤔

I did look for other alternatives and found this online service. https://products.aspose.app/cad/conversion/dwg-to-ifc
I still didn't make it work but there can be an error in my file. I will keep exploring further
