Export 2D Drawing as dxf file

Is it possible to export a 2D drawing as a dxf file? I have tried exporting the drawings as a .dwg file but when I open the files in another program, nothing appears. Or is it something I am doing wrong with the dwg files when exporting them?

Hi whittakerdw,

This has come up a number of times on the forum, for example exported-dwg-files-are-blank and exporting-2d-drawings-as-a-dxf-file.  The issue when opening DWGs output from Fusion Drawings in other non-Autodesk applications is that those apps don't support the drawing view object in the drawing.  We are just beginning work on a more universal dwg/dxf export, but it will still be a while before it's released.

Thanks,
Chris

Okay well if anyone comes across this issue I found that if it is a multi layer model that starting a sketch and projecting all surfaces and right clicking the sketch and saving it as a dxf is able to open in other non autodesk programs.

So...There is no solution?

I recently started working with F360 & hve a large # of 2D .DXF & .DWG files I created using a FLOW waterjet program.

Ive had no problems when providing these drawing to various Laser WJ & CNC jobbers but when I needed to create a few new or update those parts in F360 ....Nuthin!

They are not multi-layer

Can you offer a workaround?
