Error installing Fusion 360: SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED

Anonymous
Not applicable

I cannot install Fusion 360 using the client downloader.  I keep getting the error SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED in the log file.  Windows 10 x64.

"adsk.dls.streamer.exceptions.SSLNetworkFailure: [SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed (_ssl.c:548)"

How do I fix this?

Hello,

We were aware of the issue and investigating the cause. Unfortunately there is no workaround for the issue yet.

We will update you once the issue is solved.

Thanks,

Marshal

Hi all,

I am sorry about the inconvenience. I made a screencast that shows how to perform the workaround @marshaltu mentioned earlier.

Please copy and paste below after dropping the install file into the command prompt window. I hope this helps.

Arg! Thank you! I didn't append the" Edited "to the end of the command as I was told from the get go... derp. My fault, I have successfully installed the program. Great work Dev Team and thank you again for helping so quickly.

Hi Marshal,

I love the software but I am somewhat intolerant of development teams who don't test the basics on cross-platform software. This issue falls under the basics (deployment).

The Windows command line "solution" brings up the same GUI installer on windows 10 with the identical error to double clicking the executable in the windows explorer. Worse, it creates an orphaned installer and an orphaned streamer on every go, just like double clicking does.

Of course it works fine on the Mac. I know it does, because I tried it there first, assuming that dev and test happen on Mac first. However, I/we the user(s) obviously don't care if it works on the Mac. We would like to be able to run it on Windows. Autodesk claim it installs and runs on Windows. Please kindly develop and test on Windows as well as Mac to prevent this in the future, or else stop saying you support Windows.

Thankyou, Can confirm this also worked for me, thanks to the Autodesk team. Can't wait to start using Fusion.

Marshal,

Oh duh, it should have been:

See the difference? One white space in your posted command between the -c and the URL

The problem with the auto update might be related to use of python's urllib instead of python's urllib2, but I'm too tired to figure it out right now.

Cheers,

Ken

Hello,

Sorry for the trouble. I should post more detailed guidelines for the workaround. Thank Masa for posting video to demo the solution. Please pay more attention an additional command-line argument "edited" need be appended after "Fusion 360 Client Downloader.exe".

I won't find excuse for the issue and but explain a little about the root cause. The reason was our content delivery network(CDN) provider(it helps accelerate Fusion 360 installation) updated SSL certificate today, which doesn't match the certificate we used in our Fusion 360 client downloader. We are working closely with them to find the solution out.

We will work hard to make Fusion 360 more stable in both Windows and MAC.  We are proud of having so many royal users like you. Your suggestions would make Fusion 360 better.

Thanks,

Marshal

Hello!

I don't see that it is necessary to copy and insert into command line.

I tried to copy the file in a command line (watch the enclosed screenshot 'cmd_line.png'), added "edited" at the end, however in log an error message is given that "edited" an incorrect option ('streamer.exe: error: unrecognized arguments: edited').
What do I do not so? Log enclosed too.

PS Windows 7 Pro SP1, x64.

Sorry for my English.

Thanks.

This issue has already been resolved. For your reference, the steps which worked for me were:1. You must copy and insert into command line2. You must remove the space between -c and the option to the right3. Press enter.

Hello!

I apply a screenshot of the response of masa.minohara (Answer_screen.png file), so I see it. I don't see in it that I shall copy. I see only empty lines.

What not so?

Thanks.
