How do I get rid of the rest of an imported file??

Ok so I imported a complete 3d model of a glock 22 however all I need to work with is the slide, is there a way for me to take just the slide and get rid of the remainder of the gun after importing into fusion 360.. If so could someone please explain or better yet do a screen video I tend to understand better that way..
