Error converting mesh to solid

Hi, I am John Sedler trying to import stl files into Fusion 360 for Windows 10 to combine other objects into one, then needing to 3d print them out. I have looked through all of the answers on the forums. I have reduced the number of faces down to only 500 faces and it distorted my model immensely. Still no luck. 

Any way around the warning, or solutions would be great!

to be frank, fusion isn't very good at this task.  If you only need to combine, then I highly recommend using a different software tool.  I like mesh mixer for this type of thing.

I do have mesh mixer! and it works way better for this situation! Thanks so much!
