Editing unopened sketches?!

I can't find any info on this subject, so I'll ask: Should I be able to modify an UN-opened sketch?

I can, and don't like that I can. All sorts of unexpected errors can result, like accidentally dragging or deleting a feature in an unopened sketch.

Is this supposed to be possible, or do I just have unwanted superpowers?

This is (unfortunately) possible.

Thanks. Seems to be 100% unacceptable, but I'm sure the design team has a good explanation...  🙂

Your super powers only work on undefined geometry, (blue / orange)

if it’s black, green or purple geometry, they ignore you.

Might help....

Ah, that's better then. I have been able to delete black lines, but I think they were undefined in length (though that still shows black!).

Delete?

that works everywhere.

Things go bad if you push past a warning.

yes, this is intentional.  A few operations, such as dragging, deleting, and editing dimensions, are available outside of sketch mode.  This is a convenience feature, because it can be time-consuming to go into and out of sketch mode, and if we were to disable this "unacceptable" behavior, I suspect the outcry would be very large.  If you are concerned about inadvertently doing this, I'd recommend turning off the visibility of those sketches.
