Edit Fit Point Spline tangency Weights and Angles Precisely

I’m working on a sketch at the moment where I’ve joined two parallel lines with a spline using the “Blend Curves” tool. However, I want to reduce the tangency weight at each end while keeping both weights equal still, so I have that same symmetry still but have a shallower curve.

As far as I can find, the only way to edit the spline curvature is with the handles, but that lacks the precision I’m looking for. Is there a more precise tool? Or am I stuck having to eyeball it?

If there’s a workaround for this specific use case I’m open to that too, but this is not the first time I’ve run into this problem so a general solution would be appreciated.

Can’t attach screenshots right now but I will when I get home.

Hi,

The only way to edit the spline is with the handles. BUT - those handles can be dimensioned and constrained like

any other line. You can set a length dimension on them, you can set a horizontal or vertical constraint on them, and

you can set up an angle dimension between the handles and another line.

I haven't tried it but since you can do all that other stuff, I can't see any reason you couldn't use the Equals

dimension on them either and refer to the other handle's dimension.

Cheers

What exactly are you referring to with "precision"?

Dimension one of the handles and then apply an equal constraint between the two handles.

I did not know you could put constraints on handles. I have now learnt something. Thank you!
