How to create a sliding base/mount for an object

Can anyone show or point me in the right direction to create a mounting plate (see .f3d file attached) that would allow me to slide the Camera Mount backwards to remove it from the Mounting Plate.  The mounting plate will be permanently mounted but need to remove the Camera Mount from the Mounting Plate sometimes.  I was thinking it would need a push button on the Mounting Plate located in the back that when pressed down I could then slide the Camera Mount body backwards to remove it. Note that the front of the Camera Mount is the design with "Kubota Cam" on it.

Sorry just need a bump in the right direction so I can see how it’s done and hopefully I can take it from there.

Search for 3d printed snap fits (assuming you're 3d printing it).

Hi,

Take your base and cut out a slot and rail on each side of the Base.

Join the slots to the camera body.

You may need to modify the rail in the slot to stop it from pushing all the way through but I will leave you to do that.

A Press Fit should be enough to hold it depending on the material you fabricate it with. If you 3D Print it then PLA

or ABS should work.

If you want some kind of locking mechanism then some kind of Snap will work. Hook in a hole and press to release.

Cheers

Andrew
