Hi

Ive just started to learn fusion 360 and i have found im having a problem reading the dwg file it exports, I export a 2d drawing of the part I have drawn as a dwg file, the export goes ok but when i try and import the file in another program it tells me there is a problem with the file, most of the drawings i will be doing will be sent to my customers in this format as dxf isnt availible yet any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If you do a bit of a search you'll find quite a few threads that explain the problem, basically the curves are in the drawing workspace and about the only program that can read the info is AutoCAD. You have 2 options get someone with AutoCAD to convert the files or save as PDF. Don't know when this will be fixed there have been requests for usable DWGs for about 18 months!

Hi

thanks for the reply, I had looked at some of the threads but was hopping there was another way around it, I may have to purchase autocad let to convert the files to something useable

thanks again

I think this is down to the problem that Fusion's DWG stores the drawing in paper space and only AutoCAD can see the info. Not good that Fusion can't read it's own files!
