I thought I would make a brief note here in the general forum to see whether I'm the "only one" or others see this need as well.

In making 2D drawings in Fusion, I see a need for a basic line/box drawing capability within the drawing creation tools. Something that has some ability to use 2 or 3 linetypes (solid, dashed, dotted, maybe), and just a basic line and/or circle/box creation using those lines. In a complex drawing, there is often a need to outline areas of a part, such as a large flat plate with a lot of different types of holes in groups or specific areas needing a flatness callout, and there is no capability within the drawings package to mark these types of things that I can see.

As a perhaps related item, ordinate dimensioning would make drawings for parts with a lot of holes and features considerably cleaner.

I looked at the 2D drawing function roadmap, and there is no obvious mention of this sort of thing in the foreseeable future, from what I read.

I would not take that roadmap too literal. It's more like a 30ft view on things and a lot of smaller features and ideas are implemented that never show up on the road map.

Ordinate dimensioning has been asked for many times.
