Does this make Sense?

This is a test print that I am using to try to figure out how to dimension tangent points on an angle.  Does this make sense looking at it and what is being measured?

Yes, I know what you are trying to communicate, however, whether it complies with any drawing standards I don't know.

Makes sense to me - but I think I would also add the phantom tangent line (red line in my image).

I didn't try that in Fusion, so I'm not sure it is possible.

 

Back in the day - we used to label these as TP1, TP2 (Test Point 1, Test Point 2....) but nowadays we are supposed to use international symbols rather than words/abbreviations that might not be understood in other languages.   I would have to do research on what symbol to use (I don't teach GD&T) anymore.  This general style of dimensioning is commonly used in castings where it is sometimes difficult to take measurements - if you do research, I would start there.

 

If you will be making these parts in-house, just make sure that your inspectors understand your nomenclature.  If this will go to outside vendor - might be worth the time to find a standard nomenclature.  But for in-house use that looks easy to understand and makes sense to me.

 

Final bit: I sure hope that tight tolerance is truly needed - it will be difficult to manufacture (especially on an angle), just as it is difficult to measure and will impact the cost of manufacture.

In Fusion I think you'd need to make a sketch in the design workspace then enable its visibility in the 2d drawing.

Another problem measuring is the radius around the base of the part will need to be correct\perfect as well or is there a small flat?

It makes sense, but isn't enough information.

 

What is the distance of the gauge pins from the edge? Are we to assume, as @TheCADWhisperer  has suggested, that they are to be tangent to the 'flat?'

 

Where along the curved edges are we supposed to measure the 11-deg and 4-deg angles? What is the radii of them? Is the outer edge supposed to finish perpendicular to the flat? Is the smaller one supposed to finish tangent to the flat?
