distortion during merge edge

hi, I am following a tutorial on wing design, during that I want to merge two bodies with edges, but I am getting distorted results. Any help, suggestion, or solution is appreciated!

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

And of course, what is the link to the Tutorial?

Hey @Anonymous,

 

one of the possible issue might be the topology.

the no of faces on the one side must be equal on the other side.

For reference, I have attached some images have a look at 'em.

a) In the 1st, I have created two cylinders(with 8 edges) in the form environment.

b) In the 2nd, I've merged those and it is perfect.

c) In the 3rd, I've removed one edge as you can see(left cyl has only 7 edges)

d) I then merged two, see the wonky result.

 

All I wanna say is, make sure that your model has the same no. of edges that are joining.

 

And your model is not history enabled making us no access for changes. For the next time make sure you enable it.
