Disappearing tool tips

When I hoover over any menu option the tool tip flashes on then immediately dissapears.  As a new user, this is killing me.  Any idea why or how to fix it?

Using

Fusion 360 version  2.0.1870

under a student plan on an Azus desktop, Windoze 8.1 .

Maybe a premature announcement? nothing pushing out to me on restart- still on version 2.0.4375.

Just pulled it.   Fusion is now loading radically faster.   Wonder what that's about?

Weird. This morning Fusion won't open. The Windows processes Fusion360.exe and FusionLauncher.exe show up in my task manager after I try to start it, but it hangs on the splash image and goes no further.
