Disable textures / bump maps in design view?

I have looked a while now and searched but not figures out how to disable bump maps showing in design view. Render view is ok but not in design. Too much visual noise and slow designing with the textures.

Hi,

removing appearence occur both in render and design mode.
Tip: use this:

Another way, more intuitive, is described here (short video):

=> Right-click on the Body (in the bodies list) on which you want to remove the texture and select the menu item "Remove Appearance Override" as shown below:

The counterpart of this solution:

You have to reselect your texture each time you will render the objects.

Thanks. A bit cumbersome but a good workaround if component colour cycling is not what you are looking for.
