Designed Sewing pieces for a fabric cutter machine, I need to convert hundreds of files to single line drawings. Is this possible with a simple command?

Title explains it at a high level. 

But the problem is that when the files were drawn, all the features of the files are choppy lines (example attached). 

Is there a way to join all the lines so that our fabric cutter doesn't try cutting the files as little mini cuts, and instead cuts in one smooth cut?

Fitting a curve to points is an interesting topic.  The usual measure of the fit is minimal least squares. 

And frequently the curve used is a spline.

So I suggest that what you want to compute is the spline that minimizes the sum of the squares of the deviations across more than 2 points.

It is an interesting and not uncommon  math problem.

This applies to 3d and n-dimensional too.

One way to do this is to:

1. Extrude each piece.
2. In the Mesh workspace, select CREATE/Tessellate.
3. Select CREATE/Create Mesh Section Sketch.
4. In the Solid workspace edit the new sketch.
5. Select Fit Curves to Mesh Section. 

This may be able to be done with a script.  Ask in the API forum.

What format is your "drawing"?

Another possible fix:

Convert these to continuous line/curves/splines by making all of the end points coincident. Try it with one file to see if that works for the fabric cutter machine.
