Custom Title Block with Auto Populated Fields

Hello Everyone,

I have created a custom title block for myself. But when I started to use it I noticed fields won't populated automatically as they did in default template although I copied the attributes exactly.

While searching the forum I came up with these posts among others:

My understanding is this feature was missing in the past but with the release of multi sheet drawings there is a possibility it is implemented. I checked the video and the post about the multi sheet drawing release but could not find anything about the subject.

What is the current status of this feature and most importantly how do you manage your custom title blocks right now?

Thanks.

Yes, we delivered the first release of a custom title block editor with attributes back in August.  Attribute auto-population is currently limited to a handful of pre-set attributes (i.e. Title, Date, Sheet Number, etc.). We plan on expanding the auto-population capabilities in the future to include additional properties and custom properties too.

ok, thanks, that will be why I can't see them for my fields then.

While you are adding this, a few other big issues... (probably more urgent to be honest)

- A. BOQ tables (or parts lists) to include sub components of components and linked assemblies . In a better way than this.

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-t...

- B. Not showing the components in a parts list / BOQ that are switch off for that base view

- C. Ability to add a column that can add take data input, so notes etc. that is editable from the drawing space.

- D. Ability to drive the part number and the description from the drawing space, as that easier than going back to the model space.

-E. Ability to add annotation lines. They don't need to be linked to geometry, they don't need to be smart, just a basic line tool that overlays.

F. The ability to copy a base view. Holding down control and clicking does appear to do something, like its trying to copy/paste, but it does not work.

Its got better in the last 2 years, but its still frustrating.

Thanks

When on the roadmap is the ability to add custom attributes that can be edited in one place and auto-populate all sheets using the same title block?

Thanks,

Troy

Hi Troy,

The ability to add attributes that automatically populate and update is definitely on our roadmap, which you can find here.

https://app.mural.co/t/timerahart2/m/timerahart2/1475171276107/0945259b7c22117012173ea2be3c9151fec1f...

I am not sure this includes "custom" attributes; I suppose it depends on what you need. We do intend to provide access to many properties defined in or by the model. However, we do not have dates on these roadmap items, and I know that is what you are asking for.

Sorry we can't be more definitive on delivery dates for features; we know you all need them!

Thank you travis, we definitely hear you! And this is absolutely still on our roadmap.

Wish I had better news to share... but, not yet. Thanks for the "ping".

So three years later is this still being implemented? Or has it just been abandoned?
