Custom Title Block with Auto Populated Fields

Anonymous

Hello Everyone,

I have created a custom title block for myself. But when I started to use it I noticed fields won't populated automatically as they did in default template although I copied the attributes exactly.

While searching the forum I came up with these posts among others:

My understanding is this feature was missing in the past but with the release of multi sheet drawings there is a possibility it is implemented. I checked the video and the post about the multi sheet drawing release but could not find anything about the subject.

What is the current status of this feature and most importantly how do you manage your custom title blocks right now?

Thanks.

Hi, Auto-population of fields (attributes) in customer-created title blocks is on our near-term roadmap, but has not yet been released. We recognize the value of having this capability, particularly in multi-sheet drawings, and plan to get it out to you as soon as we can. Stew Sabadell

Hi all, Thanks for your patience. We have this feature area in development now, and want to meet as many customer expectations as we can, so it will be awhile before it is ready for release. But the good news is, it is in progress!

Hi @Anonymous, @ChrisMackayOpticad and @Anonymous,

As Stew says, we really appreciate your patience on this as its a pretty big feature when we considered all the properties within Fusion and all the drawing objects that can consume them. With that said, here's a sneak peak of the title block editing environment as of a few days ago. Its still pretty rough, but we're making progress.

And just curious, as we progress and the feature becomes ready for testing, would any of you be interested in taking a closer look, maybe during one of our Office Hours calls?

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi Andrew.

Good to see the new feature is progressing. I'd be happy to take a closer look prior to the feature being launched.

Hi @andrew.de.leon,

I live in Turkey and there is a big time zone gap (about 8 hours) between Turkey and Australia. I don't think I can participate in a phone call but I would really like to help maybe via email or this forum or similar written media.

Thank you.

Hi @ChrisMackayOpticad and @Anonymous,

Great! Once we get closer I'll let you know. And @Anonymous no worries about the time difference, we're pretty flexible. We'll find a time that suits you.

Thanks again.

Andrew

Where do things stand with this feature now?  Will the title block be editable right in fusion or will it still require using auto-cad and saving a separate DWG file?  Thanks,

Hi @Anonymous,

Yes, we are currently working on in-app title block editor where the user will be able to create and edit their own custom title block within Fusion 360 itself. This feature is in advanced development stage and will be released once it is ready.

@Anonymous - like @mishrani said, the teams are making good progress on it, but we still have work to do, so I don't have a time estimate I can give you yet.

Thanks for your patience,

That's great guys, I am real glad to hear that it will be integrated right into fusion...that only makes sense to me moving forward. I guess we will just have to make do until. The autoupdating of fields is also a very important feature as well...i know it is difficult to foresee everything that users may want to insert here but even if we just have all of the basic stuff that are already available along with the ability to customize headings that will be a great start.
