Hello all,
Inspired by a recent post on this forum by @AlanMueller where he posted a custom thread file for UN wire thread inserts, I am posting a number of thread files that I've created or curated from various sources. Perhaps this thread (excuse the pun!) could become a repository for custom thread files people have created that they would like to share with the rest of the community.
Attached you will find a zip file which contains the following thread files:
- ANSIMetricMProfile - Non Std
- British Brass Thread
- BS 00093 British Association (BA)
- BS 811 British Standard Cycle with Spokes, Nipples and specials
- BS 84 Whit Form
- BS84 Whit Form with minor diameters set to max allowable (see edit 9/02/2025 below)
- ISO 2904 Metric Trapezoidal - Non Std
- ISO Metric Non-Std Sizes
- Metric Camera Filter
- Model Engineer threads 32 & 24 TPI
- NPSM Pipe Thread
- PG Gland Threads
- ISO 8038 Whit Form Microscope RMS + W26
- ISO 8038 Metric Form Microscope M25 M27 M32
- Wire Thread Insert - BSF
- Wire Thread Insert - BSW
- Wire Thread Insert - ISO Metric
- Wire Thread Insert - UNC
- Wire Thread Insert - UNF
I can't vouch for the data sources for all of these files and some might have originated from right here on this forum. Some files might be incomplete or contain errors so please double-check!! If you do find anything wrong or missing please post the details here and I'll add and/or amend accordingly (unless you want to do it yourself 😉).
So if you have a custom thread file perhaps you'd like to post it here and share it with the community.

EDIT 05/03/2024:
I'll start adding any additional files to this first post to make it easier to find any you might be looking for.

EDIT 09/06/2024:
I have updated the Custom thread files.zip with a new (corrected) version of the NPSM thread file in response to @user015M86Y's post #5. Hopefully this is now correct!

EDIT 06/01/2025:
Prompted by another thread where @Zoltan3D required a thread for a DIN 11851 coupling I have created a DIN 405 thread file (as I understand it this is the thread standard on these couplings). There's a limit to how many files can be attached to a post so I've added it to the "Custom Thread Files.zip" file attached below.
DIN 405 data sourced from https://www.ring-plug-thread-gages.com/PDChart/Rd-Knuckle-DIN405-thread-data.html
Data is provided in good faith and no warranty is given as to its accuracy. Please check the data for yourself before using it in any designs.
Note that there is no provision in Fusion thread files for radiused crests or roots so these must be added with the fillet command in Fusion.
External threads have a root and crest radius of 0.238507 x Pitch, internal crest radius is 0.255967 x Pitch, and internal root radius of 0.221047 x Pitch.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT 09/02/2025:
Added a modified BSW & BSF thread file. If you create a file with mean values (which is the norm) the external thread root width is too narrow for Fusion to apply the fillets. I've modified this file so that the minor diameter of external threads is set to the maximum allowable for each size and class. This gives enough space for Fusion to apply the rads. Hope you find it useful.

EDIT 11/02/2025:
- Replaced the RMS file with ISO 8038 Whit Form Microscope RMS + W26 file.
- Added ISO 8038 Metric Form Microscope M25 M27 M32
If this answers your question please mark the thread as solved as it can help others find solutions in the future.

I've created a Windows application for creating custom thread files for Fusion. You can find out about it here. Hope you find it useful.
