Pointer highlight

Hello,

Will it be possible in the near future to have the possibility of deactivating the highlighting of the pointer. I mean, disable the fact that the element hovered over by the mouse pointer changes appearance. On a daily basis it is terribly tiring for me to see my assemblies flashing like Christmas trees. The ideal would be to be able to select what you want to shine, (body, component, skecth). If such a development is not possible at least allow to be able to regulate the level of brilliance.
thx

Hi @mac_ito

For your information, below are about how to modify the environment XML file to "turn off" face selection highlight.

1. Find the related environment XML file, such as PhotoBooth.xml (or DarkSky, GreyRoom, etc.)

  • find the Fusion360.exe location (from taskmanager) if use windows OS
  • find XML file such as PhotoBooth.xml in "Neutron\Server\Scene\Resources\Environments\PhotoBooth\PhotoBooth.xml"
  • Example:  C:\Users\zhanglo\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\9dc57ac7328faaa98e6bb4734628b2fbd5d10ece\Neutron\Server\Scene\Resources\Environments\PhotoBooth\PhotoBooth.xml

2. Modify the XML file, Use Background colour for HighlightEffectInfo colours, then restart Fusion 360. You could backup the original XML file first.

Use this at your own risk!

Hi thank you for this tips. I already knew it but not so well detailed unfortunately this possibility is not possible on macOS. It seems that on macOS the xml files are not accessible

Too bad, can you ask someone using macos?

Nevertheless I would mention your previous message as a solution because it has the merit of bringing help to Windows users

On macos, I was able to get the path to the .xml files so I was able to try to modify values and I managed to remove the highlight effect when the pointer passes over a face.

  1. Right click on the dock icon, show in finder
  2. Right click on the Fusion application icon, show contents.
  3. Contents/Libraries/Neutron/Neutron/Server/Scene/Resources

the full path : /Users/xxx/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/webdeploy/production/xx most recent file xx/Autodesk Fusion 360.app/Contents/Libraries/Neutron/Neutron/Server/Scene/Resources

To do this you have to enter the following value like this <HighlightEffectInfo BaseColorRGBA="0 0 0 0"

Be careful this also has the effect of not displaying a highlight when selecting a hidden element with a long press

@sutherland- If you tell me what these labels correspond to?

There is just one color that I can't change, it's the one when you select directly from the browser or by double-clicking, any idea of the label to change?
