Creating a spiral tube...

I want to create a spiral tube that starts off with a diameter of for example 20mm then decreases to a diameter of 8mm.   I intend to 3D print this and I want it to be a spiral pipe work that liquid can flow through.  I've create a solid object using the coil feature, however I don't know if I can create a pipe that starts off as one diameter then reduces to another diameter, also its solid, I've tried using shell on the coil but it doesn't have the effect I desire.

Can anyone help ?

But how do I create the coil properly?  all I end up with is a large coil, not a spiral.

Here's one way to create a sketch for the end features. Create an offset plane and use To Object and select the vertex at the end of the coil.

Then project the edge of the tapered coil end face as a reference line and sketch your path.

Then just sweep using the end face and the path. See attached file.

Thank you, is this how to also create the spiral ?

Once again, I'm trying to create something that has been posted earlier but without any followable instructions I want to create a spiral/pipe that is 20mm at the top, down to 8 mm at the bottom.

Share your file. Don't know what you mean about creating the coil properly. The file I shared is pretty simple. The coil primitive and pipe are just for construction. The ends of the pipe are using to sketch the 2 ends of the tapered spiral pipe and the edge of the coil primitive is used as a path for the loft. If you step along the timeline and edit each feature it should make sense what's selected.

If you roll the timeline back to just after the 2 sketches you can see the sketches are created on the end of the pipe and I've selected the edge of the triangular coil used as the loft centreline.

When creating the loft, hide the pipe and select the profiles for each end then the coil edge as the centreline. Note. loft does not allow creating hollow bodies so for the first loft selecting the outer profile will create a solid.

I now have the coil, I want to connect the bottom of the pipe to the center of the dome and similar at the top, how?  I also need to get the pipe to be 20mm at the top and 8mm at the bottom.

Is your first sketch - HubFront - fully defined?

Pattern Features, not sketch elements (when possible and practical).

Are there any unresolved issues highlighted in your Timeline?

Would you be willing to start over from scratch?

Yes, HubFront is the first sketch, what do you mean by is it fully defined ?

I don't really want to start from scratch as its taken me quite a long time to get where I am now.

I don't feel like I am making much progress, here is an image of what I have:

Screenshot 2023-06-07 at 06.52.10.png

So far this is just the coil, I want to create a helix where the entry point is the at the top of the coil and is for example 20mm, then I want to join the bottom of the helix to the centre of the dome which is 10mm.  I want this to be a spiral, I am struggling to connect the coil to the ovals top and bottom.

Perhaps start a new thread? I think the current thread is shown as having a Solution so some Forum members may not see these supplementary questions.  Can you share your current state of play Fusion 360 file?
