Is there an easy to create a rolled feature in sheet metal or is doing traditional modeling with a sweep the only way?

You are unclear, do you mean create a rolled edge like would appear on a pail or do you mean a cylindrical shaped model.  The second one is a piece of cake, create an Arc with space at the seam and create a contour flange.

I was thinking of a hem like on a bucket. I ended up making it be doing the radius of the bend calculations by hand and then revolving a sketch. I am wondering if there was an easier way?

Take a look at the attached model.  I created the sheet metal roll, which was pretty easy, but did not add the internal wire.  That would be a simple solid model.  You can change the size of the rolled edge, within reason, using sketch 3.  If you need a Screencast to explain anything, let me know.

Edit: I forgot to mention, this sheet metal feature will not unfold, obviously.

Thank you. That is a clever trick. I did not realize I could refold after adding features to a piece. Filling the gap took a little effort but lofting in the surface space worked.

I would use a Sweep to do the wire.  You can do a sketch on the gap face, project the rolled edge to get the center and then add a circle, of whatever size you desire, then use the Sweep command on this profile and one of the circular edges of the top of the cone.  It is quick and easy.
