Using constraints I can make the initial sketch with only one numeric value. You then have to extrude and give it a value to make the cube. How can I use a constraint from one sketch to another?  I know I can create a variable and use that but I am looking for a way to have one sketch reference another and the perfect cube is a simple example that people/I can understand.

Each time you create a dimension - it is automatically assigned a variable number.

Example d1, d2, d3...

Simply make the extrusion distance (or any other dimension) equal to the dimension that you want to reference by name.

Thank you that works perfectly.
