Creating a coil around a non-uniform solid

I am designing a "knitting needle" with a textured outer surface to improve its grip.

Here is the reference photo of what I'd like to replicate (it is highlighted in red):

I have tried creating a coil in the solid design workspace, however I am unsure how to have the coil:

  1. Have a "fillet" between the coil and the needle (so that it has a smooth transition like in the reference photo).
  2. Have the coil follow the path of the ogive so that the needle has a uniform texture.

I have attached the F3D file to this post. You will find the needle in the "stick component.

Thank you for taking the time to assist me with this.

Use a Surface workspace Sweep to create a helix:

Use that to Split Face the body:

Use that as the path in a Pipe command:

Thanks for your reply, I forgot to mention that I am a novice at Fusion and CAD in general.

I would really appreciate it if you could kindly break down the steps for me.

Even better if you could provide a screen recording of the steps you followed.

I understand that this might not be possible so I would like to thank you for taking the time to assist me regardless.

In the attached file there are two methods to do this.  The first shows how to use a Surface workspace sweep and pipe command.  The second (Stick2 component) shows how to use a coil. The Surface workspace method is better suited to more organic profiles.  Edit the features to see what effect each of the settings will have on the final shape.

Thats excellent, thank you very much.

How do I extend the coil so that it wraps around the slope as illustrated below?:

Unfortunately, a coil is only cylindrical.  The surface sweep is the only method I know that will work on non-cylindrical faces.  Instead of using a pipe in the surface sweep method, you can use a solid workspace sweep or a loft.
