Create a new component from existing features

Hello

I'm frequently having one problem with Fusion 360 - I have an idea and quickly sketch it out, then I notice that I didn't remember to create a new component and do my sketches into that. In the attached picture I would like to move all the bodies, sketches etc. I have made to the "Outer axle mount" component, but I can't seem to find a way to do that. Any ideas?

Hi @Miqueltozzz

Thank you for posting Smiley Happy

Have you tried "Create Components from Bodies"?

After clicking the bodies, Click the right mouse and then the component will create along with bodies.

If I misunderstood, please let me know Smiley Embarassed

Many thanks,

Ahreum.

@ahreum.ryu creating components from bodies is NOT a good idea in many situations. Are you familiar with Fusion 360's R.U.L.E #1 ?

it is likely the single most referred to post/thread on the Fson 360 forum.

@Miqueltozzz  If these sketches are new sketches that are not referencing other sketches or geometry in your design, you might be able to simply shift-select all these sketches and pull them into a new and empty component. That should pull all the depending bodies into that component.

However, there is no guarantee that will work. Fusion 360 is a bit picky in that respect.
