Confused with deleting bodies after a revolve

I would have thought this to be simple?

Anyway I revolved and cut a 180 deg torus profile into a body....worked fine.

But of course it left two floating bodies where the profile did not intersect the original body...

So I selected one body from the browser and tried to delete it... worked but deleted the whole revolved cut???

Now I am stuck.....

Appreciate  any help

Yep, expected behaviour - do not Delete.

Use Remove, instead.

Might help...

if you are interested in the background on this, take a look at this thread:  what-is-the-difference-between-delete-and-remove

In that case, you can select the body you don't want and choose Remove from the right-click menu.

However, if you don't want the part in the first place, it is better to change the sketch like this.

If you choose the added areas together when you Revolve, you will not have an extra body.
